The International Center of Photography (ICP) stands amongst the nation's foremost museums dedicated to preserving the past and ensuring the future of the art of photography. One of the largest facilities of its kind, ICP presents changing exhibitions of the finest works of some of the most talented photographers in the world.

Students of photography will appreciate the work ICP has done to create programs and workshops covering all aspects of the medium, delivered by photographers and teachers who are well known in the field.

Lovers of history or art will appreciate the galleries themselves. Unique points of view are communicated in such a way that they can be readily shared by novices and those with more sophisticated tastes. It's a great experience.

With over 20 exhibitions each year, ICP presents an extensive array of historical and contemporary photographs, revealing the power and diversity of the medium from documentary photography to digital imaging. Most will agree that these photos say much more than 1,000 words.

The School of the International Center of Photography fosters the dynamic study of the history, techniques, aesthetics, and practices of photography in a wide range of programs: continuing education classes; two full-time certificate programs; Master of Arts and Master of Fine Arts degree programs in conjunction with NYU; Digital Media Program; lectures; and symposia. Thousands of students from around the world choose to study at ICP in over 500 courses, lectures, and symposia offered throughout the year.

With an emphasis on reaching out to diverse audiences, ICP's Community Programs encourage personal and professional growth by providing opportunities to explore, create, and study photography. Tours, workshops, and partnerships with schools and community centers are designed to make the medium more accessible to people of every age and background, including visiting groups, families, public and private schools, senior citizens, community centers, and the disabled.

The Museum Store offers a fine selection of photography books, postcards, and gifts.

If you are interested in photography, you simply must visit this place, become a member, appreciate what has been done, and learn to communicate your own unique vision through the medium of photography. Call for a brochure or visit ICP's official website.
