Commanding a majestic view of the Hudson Valley, this early 19th-century home, first owned by States Morris Dyckman, has been acclaimed as an outstanding example of New York Federal architecture.

Nearly destroyed in the 1950's, the building was saved from the wrecking ball and moved fifteen miles north of its original site to its present location in Garrison.

The mansion contains much of Dyckman's English china, silver, and part of his library, and is decorated with outstanding examples of New York Federal furniture to complete the period room settings.

Beginning at the Carriage House/Reception Center, the Tour leads visitors through the apple orchard and formal gardens to the Mansion, where knowledgeable guides show Boscobel's beautiful interior. Following the tour, visitors can enjoy the breathtaking view, the Gardens, the original Spring House, and the Gate House.

Boscobel provides a wonderful opportunity for a peaceful and enjoyable family outing. Groups are welcome and Boscobel is popular with School Groups. For Grades K - 8 a Hands-On Tour , in addition to the manison tour, enables students to handle reproductions of objects from the early 1800's and even explores the political climate of the time. The House Tour for Grades 9 - 12 reveals the lifestyle, furnishings, decorative arts and architecture of the Hudson River Valley in the early 1800's.

Tours last about 45 minutes.
