This excellent museum focuses on two important aspects of its area's culture: First, history, represented by photographs, printed material, and all kinds of memorabilia. Second is fine and decorative arts and crafts.

The Museum displays four permanent exhibits. First are the Homespun Kitchen and the Pre-Electric Kitchen, in the lower level. Visitors see how families of old prepared meals, made clothes and did laundry. Not always easy! The ingenuity that folks were able to muster in those days, though, was incredible.

The second floor contains the Antique Toy and Game Room, showing the variety of amusements that once kept kids busy. The Fluorescent Mineral Room, features an extensive collection of Fossils and Minerals, including spectacular fluorescent minerals from Franklin.

The first floor offers changing exhibits throughout the year. The varied themes include quilts and vintage clothing, art, crafts, and history.

A valuable resource in its community, the Museum aims to involve all area cultural and educational organizations in its programs.

Throughout the year Sunday afternoon programs are frequently presented, featuring guest experts, historians, and hobbyists to share their knowledge and expertise with interested audiences.

For Groups, a one - hour Guided Tour is offered, providing an educational experience for adults and students of all ages.

One of several other great facilities in this area can be combined with the Meadowlands Museum to fill an entire day with fun and education.
