The Ladew estate features fifteen beautiful gardens, each with its own special theme. From the Formal Rose Garden to a Cottage Garden, Water Garden and Berry Garden, visitors will enjoy an array of color, texture and form throughout the seasons. The crowning glory is the Topiary -- trees and shrubs trained and trimmed into ornamental shapes. Shrubs become a pyramid, a staircase, a bird or animal, or even a fox hunt complete with dogs and hunter on horseback. These are statues, yet they are alive! A visit will be remembered for a long time. In addition to the gardens and topiary, Ladew's house can be toured. Visitors can enjoy English antiques, paintings, photographs, sketches, and fox hunting memorabilia. The Oval Library is featured in the book "100 Most Beautiful Rooms in America." This great family outing can also be enjoyed by groups of 15 - 50 people, including School Groups. Luncheon can be provided by reservation.
